Jurmala Art School is organizing the 17th International Visual art competition 'I live by the Sea'. The theme of the competition varies every year but the sea is always a focal point.
Everyone can live by the sea, river, ocean or lake. Everyone can also live by a flower sea or a sand sea. We all have our sea of dreams and we all share the pleasure of creatively working - to draw, to paint, to create things.
Our school's motto is “It is an art to create Art”. We are inviting everyone to create art.
All children and young people from the countries over the world are invited to participate in the competition.
THEME OF THE COMPETITION: “THE BRIDGE”
A bridge over the river, a bridge above the rift or a bridge between two seas... but the bridge can unite the time, generations, people, the past and the future. So many myths and fairy tales are illuminating the philosophical meaning of the bridge in different cultures and traditions. The bridge is the connection that gives an opportunity to meet and unite different worlds together.
Last year, in the 16th International Visual Art Competition "I live by the sea 2017" there were received 3483 art works from 28 countries. 1182 works were sent in from abroad and 2300 works from Latvia. 3 Grand Prix, 20 Gold medals, 30 Silver medals, 40 Bronze medals and 219 Certificates of appreciation were awarded.
